Pursuing professional development has been a continual source of invigoration and innovation for me in the classroom and in my role as a teacher. Besides presenting at conferences and workshops, attending these events has allowed me to stay current in the field and to meet and learn from thought leaders in the field.
I believe that one of the biggest benefits of being a teacher is that it allows us to be lifetime learners. Professional organizations allow me to work with and learn from people in all different fields and from those whose specialties may be different from mine.
I am a firm believer in constant improvement and self developent, and have seen my teaching improve greatly over the years because of my participation in these events.
